Graduate Writing Fellow USMA

Provide part-time writing assistance to United States Military Academy Cadets via individual, face-to-face consultations.
Sessions will encompass teaching and learning strategies designed for all stages of the writing process and for various writing or communications required for an academic course, personal interest, or professional purpose.
Must be flexible to handle either scheduled or drop-in appointments.
Will create and maintain records documenting cadet attendance and consultation content.
Required records includes:
cadet profile, session report forms, and client surveys in WC Online database.
Will edit scholarly work on promotional materials, writing guides, writing workshops, handbooks, purpose statements, abstracts, guidelines, databases, and related documents.
Such work requires familiarity with Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Site/Hours:
Mounger Writing Center (MWC) in Jefferson Hall.
Hours will vary from 12:
30-4:
30 Monday-Friday during regular academic semesters, to include selected summer semestersRequirementsMinimum of a Master's degree (or substantial work toward it) from an accredited college or university in one of the following areas:
English, rhetoric, composition, writing studies, education, communication, or literature.
The successful candidate must have experience tutoring students in writing in an academic setting and a basic knowledge of writing center scholarship, theories, and practices.
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID 19.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
