DutiesAs a Metal Forming Machine Operator, you will:
Randomly select coins to determine acceptability, stops presses when a defect is found and takes steps to determine cause.
Monitor operation on presses, observes instrument panels, listens for deviations in normal rhythm and sounds and takes appropriate action to prevent mechanical failure and assures meeting high quality standards for completed coins.
Apply specialized skills, methods, procedures, and techniques to monitor and operate.
Be responsible for performing routine troubleshooting for readily apparent minor defects to internal mechanisms.
Use automated data collection systems and any computerized automated systems.
Requirements Conditions of Employment A one year probationary period may be required.
Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.

Shift Work:
This facility operates on a 24 hour per day, three-shift basis, 5 days a week.
Work schedules may vary and assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed.
The successful applicant must be available to work on all three shifts on a rotational basis.
May be required to wear safety clothing and/or equipment required by the position.
This may include safety shoes, hard hats, hearing protection, gloves, masks, etc.

Incumbents of this position frequently handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
They are required to lift, reach, push, pull, bend, walk, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to work in cramped quarters for sustained periods of time.
Operation of a forklift may be required.
Work requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods of time.
